The church of st. katherine

A church amongst nature...

This picturesque place of worship really is a hidden gem. It is hard to imagine a more inviting and beautiful location for a dream church wedding.

St. Katherine’s church was built before 1207 by the Fossard family, who owned the Manor of Hexthorpe under Count Robert de Mortain (half brother to William the Conqueror) and has been recently fully renovated. It is a beautifully maintained church that is lovingly cared for by the vicar and parishioners and we are proud to work closely with the church.

The Vicar of St Katherines, who also oversees the congregation of Wadworth, Balby and Hexthorpe churches, is happy to discuss the marriage plans of couples outside our small parish.

Located next to Garden Cottage and overlooking The Barn…..wedding parties have the enviable ability to have the perfect backdrop for post ceremony photography and are able to walk to their celebration venue!

The vicar’s contact details are given out as standard when booking a wedding at our venue, but can be given beforehand to check availability.

St Katherine’s Church is charmingly beautiful and the wonderful Barn Venue in Loversall is the most wonderful place. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting a wedding venue.....I just want to do it all over again!
